I just received a cute feedback comment on eBay, where I have listed signed copies of both Santa’s Birthday Gift and Peter and the Whimper-Whineys. This one was in response to Santa’s Birthday Gift, and I wanted to share:
“my 8 year old had a lightbulb go on and said “this explains it” – wonderful!”
Saturday, Dec. 18th, I had a very successful book-signing at the Barnes & Noble in Vestal NY (a suburb of Binghamton, NY.) The store had created a nice sign for me, with a bin holding my books right at the entrance to the cash register lines, and then set up my table at the entrance to the store. I was allowed to sell Peter and the Whimper-Whineys, as well as the Santa’s Birthday Gift which the store ordered and now has on its shelves. It was fun to meet and greet so many new readers. They have asked me to return today, which I am happy to do!
Last weekend 
I had a wonderful reading/signing fundraising event at a Preschool in CT, where 40 adorable “good listeners” had their own book to read. After the event, the children left the room chanting “No more whining! No more crying!” I certainly hope it lasts!!
I love to write poetry, so I’ve decided to share my poetry on my blog occasionally. This poem accompanies Santa’s Birthday Gift, for I believe that Santa is the Spirit of Christmas:
The Spirit of Christmas
Santa’s the spirit of Christmas,
The longing to give in your heart,
The wanting to make others happy,
As God gave us Love at the start.
For God’s Love was born at Christmas,
All wrapped in a small holy Boy.
So we want to give on His birthday,
To share all our love and our joy.
You’re never too old to love Santa,
Just open your heart and believe…
That Santa brings gifts for Christ’s birthday,
And it’s better to give than receive.

I just returned from signing 275 copies of Santa’s Birthday Gift for 3 schools and a store in the Philadelphia PA area. I also did lots of readings and decided that the most fun of being an author is reading books to the kids!
