My Strategy Session with Strategic Book Group’s Robert Fletcher

I had the good fortune to meet and discuss “Strategic Strategy” with Robert Fletcher, the Managing Director of SBG. (The most fortunate part was that we were both in Islamorada in the Florida Keys…) How nice to be part of a company that has a CEO who takes the time to meet with an author, to discuss ways to help market my books! It was also fun to show him the preliminary manuscript for “The Magic Word” which is almost ready to go to the printer!

Sneak Peak at Elisabeth of “The Magic Word”

I thought it was time to share with my fans a sneak peak of the main character of my pending new rhymed children’s book, The Magic Word.  Elisabeth is a little girl who has to learn the magic word “Please”.  I hope that most of you have children who already know this word, but perhaps do not know how magic it is.  Consideration for others is so important, and “Please” and “Thank You” can never be overused!  I hope that this book will become as popular as Santa’s Birthday Gift and Peter and the Whimper-Whineys, and that it will help children everywhere learn the importance of good manners and thinking of others.  What a wonderful world this would be!

Peter and the Whimper-Whineys are entertaining children at Gamble Rogers State Park in Flagler Beach FL

Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area in Flagler Beach, FL has started a new lending library program for 4-8 year olds, and “Peter and the Whimper-Whineys” is now on their shelves!  Since we are now traveling in our RV, I hope to be able to share the story with children along the way.  No more whining campers!!!

My 4 year old granddaughter asks me to read this book with her – repeatedly! Sherrill S. Cannon has a great talent for writing a story with a message in rhyme. Kids love hearing the rhymes and I love ‘sharing’ the important messages with them. These books are my favorite gift for my grandmother friends.

Happy New Year to all my fans, as well as my long time friends… In honor of our recent “blizzard” and with best wishes for the new year…

WINTER’S NUPTIALS

 Nature’s waiting heart now sings

As she prepares to wed her king;

As she puts on with loving care

The lacy bridal gown he brings.

 

As through the fall he did prepare

To wed the matron cold and bare,

Transforms her to a maid again

And puts snow lilies in her hair.

 

And thus as it has always been,

Their sacred marriage, God attends;

The promised wedding vows to keep,

While all the world breathes the amen.

 

For from their union, so complete,

In consummation, earth will reap

The wonders of the seeds they sow

As on their wedding night they sleep.

 

And in her womb, the embryo

Of infant Spring, protected grows

Beneath the blanket of the snow…

The Winter’s wedding gift of snow.
