For all of you who have purchased the Peter and the Whimper-Whineys App, which is available on the iTunes store, (http://itunes.apple.com/tw/app/id458319657?mt=8) I thought I would share some background information. The App is really cute since it allows a child several choices: 1. Listen to the story as the voiceover reads each page, swishing the pages to get to the next illustration, 2. Just read the story without a voiceover, 3. Record his or her own version of the story to listen to later. One of the top voiceover recording artists in the Washington DC area (and NYC) is Deborah Benner, and she does the wonderful voiceover for this story. If your child whines, you really ought to have your child listen to the voiceover on this app. It really shows how annoying whining can be, and it is a wonderful way to stop the whining in your house!
I have known Debbie since she and my sons attended the same high school, when she was a teenager with an awesome voice, who won many vocal competitions, (too bad there was no American Idol back then!) and went on to perform regularly in theatre, bands, and voiceover recording studios.
