Cannon, the author of this adorable book and a grandmother herself, still hears her mother’s voice in her head. “What’s the Magic Word?” her mother inquired way back when, as did my mother and many other moms who believed in teaching their kids manners.  I heartily encourage mothers and fathers and all caregivers of little ones, whether or not they have already introduced their charges to the magic words of “thank you” and “please,” to acquire Mrs. Cannon’s The Magic Word and reinforce the message time and again.

I received the following couple of notes from a mother who actually won two of my books for her daughter, each in a separate giveaway!!  (That’s pretty amazing!)    She had won The Magic Word earlier this year, and just recently won Manner-Man.  I love hearing about the children’s reactions, so I wanted to share this:

Award Winning Books

I have finally got the prices for the eBook versions of my children’s books down to $4.99 each!  I realize that most small children love picture books that they can hold and look at (and take to bed with them!), but it is also nice to have an eBook version when traveling or attempting to entertain a child when all you have with you is your electronic device.  Since I have always told my grandchildren that I would be willing to get them something from the iStore (or elsewhere) for UNDER $5, I thought it was silly that my own eBooks cost more than that!  So now they are available – all five of them – Manner-Man, Gimme-Jimmy, The Magic Word, Peter and the Whimper-Whineys, and Santa’s Birthday Gift – all with at least two awards – for under $5 – and I am hoping that I will be able to share my stories with even more children… for that’s what it’s all about!

Gimme-Jimmy is a very engaging rhyming book about a bully named Jimmy and the lessons he learns about manners, politeness and sharing. His father’s unique way of letting Jimmy know that he is being poorly behaved and always saying “gimmie” leads Jimmy to understand the consequences of his actions, and allows him to choose a better path, make friends and no longer be a bully. Excellent book – will be well received as a read aloud or early reader
