Sherrill S. Cannon is a multi-award winning children’s book author. After learning of the plight of children affected by Juvenile Myositis (JM), she decided to make her six children’s books available for this fund raising effort. Sherrill is teaming-up with The Strategic Book Publishing and Rights Agency (SBPRA), so that 50% of the book sales proceeds throughhttp://sbpra.com/curejm can help find a cure for this incurable disease.
The CureJM Foundation was co-founded by Shari and Tom Hume, after their son was diagnosed with juvenile myositis, which is genetic in origin, and causes the immune system to attack healthy cells and tissue. Ten years have passed since they founded this Non-Profit Organization, and there is still no cure. To date, CureJM has raised more than $7.6 million, with most funds used to underwrite JM research centers in Chicago and Washington, D.C., as well as medical studies and other activities to support the families of JM patients.
Recently, eight-year old Addie touched the hearts of many of the SBPRA family. She suffers from JM, and was so happy when Sherrill included her name in her latest books, “Manner-Man”, “Gimme-Jimmy” and her newest, “My Fingerpaint Masterpiece”. This young lady was diagnosed with JM when she was only 3-years old, and has had to endure countless medical procedures through the years. “Raising funds to find a cure for JM is a “Labor of Love” that we can all get behind. What greater cause is there than helping children have a greater quality of life,” said Robert Fletcher, CEO of SBPRA.
Sherrill S. Cannon is a former teacher that discovered her greatest joy was in penning children’s books. She has been called “a modern day Dr. Seuss” (GMTA Review). Her six books and seven children’s plays have earned her eighteen prestigious awards in 2011-2013. Sherrill, a resident of New Hope, PA, enjoys exploring the country in an RV with her husband while visiting their children and grandchildren, and sharing her books along the way.
