“Peter and the Whimper-Whineys” has another Great Review!

No More Whining!

“Peter and The Whimper-Whineys is an exquisitely written children’s book by Sherrill S. Cannon. Peter is a young rabbit who often whines and cries when he doesn’t get his way. His mother warns him to stop or the Whimper-Whineys may just pay him a visit. Through his journey to Whimper-Whineland, Peter discovers that whining is not very attractive and that he needs to make some drastic changes in his own life.

This amazing children’s book is very creatively written and wonderfully illustrated. The plot is solid and contains a fun rhyming story that kids absolutely love and connect with easily. I read it to my daycare children with ages ranging from 18 months to 6 years old and it was a complete hit! They all sat excitedly anticipating what was going to happen next in the story and asked me to read it over and over again. All of the children asked questions and were relating Peter’s experiences to their own lives. One of the children stated after the story was read that he was going to stop whining and act better at home. I was very proud of him and said that Sherrill would be proud too! This book is a home run when it comes to a meaningful children’s book that relates a powerful life lesson. Children come away from this story feeling empowered and wanting to really exhibit good behaviors and understanding that bad behaviors are not acceptable.

I would highly recommend this children’s book to all parents, all daycare providers, all early learning centers, all schools and all libraries. This is truly a book that can make a difference in a child’s life in an easy to understand format. I cannot wait to read more of Sherrill Cannon’s wonderfully written children’s books!”

Thanks so much, Rita Vetsch – Daycare Owner!
