“Teach kids to say “please’ and “thank you” and they will have friends for life. Such a delightful book to introduce this concept written in rhyme, which makes “The Magic Word” fun to read. I’m looking forward to taking this book to Nepal next month to share with orphans. I’m sure they will relate to these words as the kind word in Nepal used in greetings is “Nameste,” that conveys a similar feeling.
The way we speak to others really is the foundation of knowing how to be a friend and to love, and all of Sherrill Cannon’s books drive home the idea of kindness to others. Every mother should make this book a part of her collection of “favorite” reading books for her children. “The Magic Word” can be one of those books a child will remember even as an adult. Make memories to last a lifetime.”
