Elisabeth has become very popular, and appears in all my subsequent books as well. One of my favorite fans (age 5) told me that she always took The Magic Word to bed with her because she loved Elisabeth. When she turned 6, and I asked her what was her favorite book, she replied, “Gimme-Jimmy“. I said, “What happened to Elisabeth? I thought she was your favorite?” She answered, “But don’t you know that Elisabeth is IN Gimme-Jimmy?”
