The recent notification that A Penny for Your Thoughts is a Medalist in the Poetry Category of the 2018 FAPA President’s Awards brings the total of awards for my books to 60. (I was not aware of Contests and Awards when my first two books were published. In my first submission to the Readers’ Favorite Awards in 2011, I entered The Magic Word, Santa’s Birthday Gift and Peter and the Whimper-Whineys at the same time and won Gold, Silver and Bronze respectively at the same time! Now THAT was fun!!!)
I recommend entering awards to all new authors, since winning awards gives instant credibility to books by new or unknown authors – not to mention ones that have been releasing books for a relatively long time. Some of them also have categories which accept books written in past years, so it may not be too late to enter! I hope that the above lists of awards will also give some of you an idea of which awards I have entered and consider reputable!
All of my books have been published by SBPRA, and have been illustrated by the amazing and talented Kalpart Illustrations which have brought my books to life and contributed to their awards!!
