ADHD Affects Home Schooled Children Also

It’s interesting to me to discover how many children seem to be borderline ADHD or actually affected by it… One mother who home-schools her children wrote to me about her son..

“So…here’s something my husband and I have talked about together but not with others…we think there’s a possibility that our son may have a touch of ADHD, it’s showing up more as he gets older; he’s not able to sit and concentrate on his schoolwork so where before he was very far ahead, he’s falling behind as a 15 minute lesson could take him an hour or more to complete, and he’s easily distracted (and an expert in distracting others in order not to do what he’s supposed to be doing), he gets excessively upset over ‘silly’ things …   I’m sure it would be more noticeable and disruptive if he were at school instead of at home, but it’s still frustrating for all of us.  He always has such good intentions…  I think it might be nice for the children to learn more about ADHD … so that they can better understand that not everyone’s brain works the same, which of course makes the world a more interesting place…”

I hope this book will help many families cope with ADHD and benefit from reading the book and sharing it with their children.
