“Peter and the Whimper Whineys Coloring Book is a work of fiction in the animal-themed, emotional issues and interactive fiction sub-genres, and was created by author Sherrill S. Cannon with illustrations and design by Kalpart. As the title suggests, this coloring book takes us along for the ride with protagonist Peter, a rabbit who spends a lot of time whining rather than using his energy for better things. So begins a charming, rhyming story which teaches its young readers that going to live with the Whimper Whineys isn’t the right path, whilst also offering children the chance to color in the book and learn the rhymes for their own creative expression.

Author Sherrill S. Cannon has delivered a really useful and engrossing book for young readers to explore alongside their parents and guardians. In its central theme, the book gently teaches an important lesson about how to manage our emotional disposition, a skill some adults could do with learning too! This moral message is layered with gorgeous artwork and plenty of space for kids to add their own flair to the story, and the journey does show Peter growing into a very loveable and sympathetic character by the close. The most engrossing quality of all is the excellent rhyme work at play, never sounding forced and always using language that kids can access and learn from. Overall, I would highly recommend Peter and the Whimper Whineys Coloring Book as a must-read for families with little whiners, and a thoroughly enjoyable educational experience.”
