Cute Note from Aly’s Mom – Please Donate to CureJM Foundation!

For many years I sponsored a Fundraiser for CureJM where 50% of the cost of my children’s books went to the CureJM Foundation.  During that time I met many special children, many of whom are mentioned in my earlier children’s books – and many of them are still corresponding with me today.

Aly was one of my special Kid Reviewers.  Here’s her review of The Golden Rule…

Today I received this lovely exchange from Aly’s Mom, which she assured me I could share.

CureJM has additional pressure now, with this Coronavirus threat, so if any of you could donate to the foundation it would help a lot!

My CureJM Fundraiser is No Longer Active

Addie is on the Cover… Little Girl in Blue Dress!

With some sorrow, but also with understanding, I regret to inform my CureJM friends that my Fundraiser for CureJM is no longer active.

There has been no activity on the site for quite some time, and CureJM has made great strides in combatting this horrible children’s disease, so the urgency has lessened a bit…

I am so grateful to have made so many friends and kid-reviewers along the way – so many thanks to Addie ( my covergirl and inspiration), Aly, Cassie, Daisy, Tristan, Zayden, and all the others who still stay in touch with me, even though they have outgrown my books.  And that’s the positive part!!  They have outgrown them and are continuing to grow!!!  CureJM has made great strides in reducing the power of Juvenile Myositis, this incurable children’s disease – and while there still isn’t a complete cure, many many children are now in remission…

(Some, like beautiful Tanea, lost their battle way too young… and I still keep her and some other families with those who were lost in my prayers…)

So I urge all of you to continue to support the CureJM Foundation – and keep giving, as I will do also!!  We must find a Cure!!!

For any of you who wish to help CureJM through my books, please know that all of my books are available on eBay with payment through PayPal, and you can leave a message if you wish the books personalized to any child and signed by me… Please also leave mailing instructions if they are to go to another address. (I will contribute a portion of your payment to CureJM from my royalties, notifying them of your contribution.)

If you wish to purchase through amazon.com or barnesandnoble.com  please contact me directly at sherrillcannon@aol.com with confirmation of purchase, and I will also contribute a portion of my royalties for that purchase to CureJM, with a note to CureJM informing them of your contribution.  (Please note that my royalties are considerably less this way, so 50% of the purchase price is no longer possible.)

Thank you to all of you who have contributed through my Fundraiser in the past… You’re the best!!!

Sherrill

(PS – My other inactive fundraiser for imbullyfree has also been discontinued…)

My CureJM Fundraiser is Still Active – Please Take a Look

I was reminded that I hadn’t mentioned my CureJM Fundraiser site in a long time , probably since my emphasis has been on my Poetry Books lately.

Please remember that 50% of the cost of my children’s books goes to the CureJM Foundation, when purchased through my Fundraiser website at www.sbpra.com/CureJM

Juvenile Myositis is an incurable autoimmune disease, striking many young children without warning.. The CureJM Foundation has come a long way, and the results of their efforts are shown in the extended lives of many children who several years ago had a much shorter life expectancy – but the battle is not yet won.

All of my Award-Winning children’s books are available through this site.  Since many of my kid-reviewers have enjoyed the books but have now outgrown them, I’m now looking for others in the 3-9 age-range who might care to review them for me!  Just let me know at www.sherrillcannon.com

Addie – My CureJM Inspiration

Addie is the little girl in the blue dress!

I was looking through some postings from 2012, and found this lovely tribute to Addie, my CureJM kid who was the basis for my CureJM Fundraiser.  Addie is now a thriving, beautiful teenager, still battling this disease but has it much more under control.  We are still looking for that cure!

Addie has also been a character in all of my subsequent children’s books, and was part of the Manner-Man cover…

The CureJM Fundraiser Website Updated!

I’m happy to report that the CureJM Fundraiser website, http://sbpra.com/curejm has been updated and my newest, My Little Angel, is now available as well.

As posted often:  Please remember that everyone can help by getting great books for kids and grandkids (and their friends) and support CureJM – Juvenile Myositis, an incurable children’s disease – at the same time! Please visit the on-going CureJM Fundraiser at http://sbpra.com/curejm where 50% of the cost of my award-winning children’s books goes to the CureJM Foundation. The names of many JM kids are included in my newly released 2017 book, “My Little Angel“.  Please help us find a cure for kids like Addie, Alyssa, Brookelyn, Cassie, Daisy, Dmitri, Eldon, Emma, Jaden, Kinser,Tristan, Zayden and all the other JM kids – and the many adults who also have this horrible disease!!!

Let’s help children learn to bring about a world where people treat others the way they themselves would like to be treated…

Addie Loves My Little Angel…

Many of you will remember my Jr. Reviewer, Addie, who was the inspiration for my CureJM Fundraiser!

Addie has written a lovely review for My Little Angel

“Dear Sherrill, Thank you so much for showing me another one of your amazing children’ s books. I have always loved how your books rhyme!  It makes the book really interesting and easier to understand. The little girl is very lucky to have a guardian angel to show her right from wrong and to show her how to be kind to others. “My Little Angel” helped me realize that I have a guardian angel sitting on my shoulder watching over me also. My favorite two lines of the book are “She’s my little angel, sent from above. To tell me God cares for me, shows me His love-” This is my favorite line because God loves us all and he wants to help us be the best person we can be. I really like how her little angel Angela wipes up her tears when she is sad and how when they are in the car together her angel sings songs to her “mile after mile”.   This book is very touching to me because we all need a little help sometimes and this book shows us that there is always someone there to help you if you are feeling sad, or if you feel like you have done wrong, or even if we need to know how to behave and treat others. Thank you again for sharing your talent of writing amazing children’ s books with me and the rest of the world!”

Another 5-Star Review for The Golden Rule

Children's Literary Classics Seal of Approval

Children’s Literary Classics Seal of Approval

5.0 out of 5 stars Sherrill Cannon does it again!,

April 30, 2016
By Karen Scheuer
This review is from: The Golden Rule (Paperback)

“Sherrill Cannon does it again! What a great book! The Golden Rule, with its wonderful rhyming text, will teach children HOW to treat others they way they’d like to be treated. In the beginning, the kids were looking for a “ruler,” because that’s what they thought they heard. Then they realized it was a “RULE” they needed! Isn’t that the way of the world? We often look for THINGS to make us happy, but instead it’s not the things at all. Like Sherrill’s book says, “The rule is not something that money can buy. It’s more of a way to feel good inside.” Children, families, and teachers will enjoy this book, with its whimsical illustrations by Kalpart. It will also be fun for children to search inside this book for the covers of other books written by Sherrill Cannon. Well done!”

Thanks for this lovely review, Karen.  Karen is the author of A Bug and a Wish, a great book about helping to solve the problem of bullying.

Thank you also to KJ of Kalpart, for adding the CLC Seal of Approval on the cover of The Golden Rule!
