I am thrilled to announce that my newest children’s book, Manner-Man, has just been released to marketing and should be available very soon.  Manner-Man is a very special book, about a superhero who can help control bullies and teach children ways to be considerate of others, and incorporates messages and characters found within some of my previous books.

It will be included in the books available on my CureJM Fundraiser website, CureJM Fundraiser where 50% of the cost of the books goes to the CureJM Foundation to help find a cure for Juvenile Myositis, an incurable children’s disease.  Addie’s Angels Fans should find this book especially fun, since we have put Addie’s character on the cover with all the other children!  See if you can find her!!

Manner-Man should be available on amazon and barnesandnoble.com soon!!

Midwest Book Review for Peter and the Whimper-Whineys by Sherrill S. Cannon

No More Whining!!!Today I discovered that Peter and the Whimper-Whineys has also been reviewed by Midwest Book Review, with the following review:  “Peter and the Whimper-Whineys” is a versed, color illustrated children’s story about a very unpopular small rabbit named Peter who only knows how to whine. Because Peter’s mother tires of his whining, she warns him about going to live with the Whimper-Whineys, a rude group of unpleasant beings. So Peter dreams of going deep into the dark woods to find these Whimper-Whineys and see just what is so disagreeable about them. His ensuing adventures reflect back to him just how unpleasant and sour the effect of whimpering and whining can be on all who are around it. Eventually, Peter finds his way back to his own little bed, awakening to a golden, sunshine-filled day. Do you think Peter has learned his lesson? “Peter and the Whimper-Whineys” is a wonderful fable for harassed parents of fretful toddlers who only need a tweak and a joke to turn their frowns upside down.”

The Magic Word by Sherrill S. Cannon is almost ready!

The Magic WordMy newest rhymed book is almost ready to be released to the printers.  Here is a sneak preview of the cover!

I hope that my readers will love this book as much as they have loved Peter and the Whimper-Whineys and Santa’s Birthday Gift.  In case you are wondering, this little rhyme will give you a clue:

There is a Magic Word

To use when you’re in need

So give a smile and shout it out

The magic word is Please!

Sneak Peak at Elisabeth of “The Magic Word”

The Magic WordI thought it was time to share with my fans a sneak peak of the main character of my pending new rhymed children’s book, The Magic Word.  Elisabeth is a little girl who has to learn the magic word “Please”.  I hope that most of you have children who already know this word, but perhaps do not know how magic it is.  Consideration for others is so important, and “Please” and “Thank You” can never be overused!  I hope that this book will become as popular as Santa’s Birthday Gift and Peter and the Whimper-Whineys, and that it will help children everywhere learn the importance of good manners and thinking of others.  What a wonderful world this would be!

Peter and the Whimper-Whineys are entertaining children at Gamble Rogers State Park in Flagler Beach FL

No More Whining!!!Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area in Flagler Beach, FL has started a new lending library program for 4-8 year olds, and “Peter and the Whimper-Whineys” is now on their shelves!  Since we are now traveling in our RV, I hope to be able to share the story with children along the way.  No more whining campers!!!

“Peter and the Whimper-Whineys” goes to Preschool!

Last weekend IMG_6737I had a wonderful reading/signing fundraising event at a Preschool in CT, where 40 adorable “good listeners” had their own book to read. After the event, the children left the room chanting “No more whining!  No more crying!”   I certainly hope it lasts!!
