Cute Note from a Favorite Fan!

Ashlyn's Manner-Man Salute

Ashlyn’s Manner-Man Salute

Cute birthday note from a favorite fan!!

Happy birthday to the best children’s author, in my opinion, the modem day Dr. Seuss. Love your books, please keep them coming, Ashlyn still goes around with the Manner-Man salute. We Love your books, that is what got her interested in reading. Thank you.

A Walking Advertisement for Manner-Man!

Manner-Man Badge

Manner-Man Badge

I received the cutest note from a Mom.  As mentioned in the back of my Manner-Man book, a child can request a Manner-Man badge.  I love this comment!

“Thank you so much for the sticker — my son has placed it on the very front of his construction helmet that he wears at all times. He is now a walking advertisement for Manner-Man! It gets quite the reaction from moms at the park.”

Thanks for sharing!!

Lovely note from a Parent…

Cassandra and Ashlyn

Cassandra and Ashlyn

I received this lovely note from a parent/grandparent:

“Sherrill, I want to personally thank you for your lovely books. They are the greatest addition to our kids library. Ashlyn and Cassie love them. They teach the most valuable lifetime lessons. Thank you again.”

This makes my heart smile!

Peter and the Whimper-Whineys gets 5-Star Review in time for Halloween!

Whine-Stopper!

Whine-Stopper!

I was delighted to discover another 5-star review for Peter and the Whimper-Whineys!  Peter has been hippity-hopping along for a few years now, helping kids learn how to stop whining, and introducing them to the Whimper-Whineymen who are just a little bit scary (especially at Halloween)…Please take a look at the cute Kalpart cover… Can you see the Whineyman hiding behind the title?

At any rate, here is the lovely review I received from Lorilyn Roberts:

A Delightful Story Told in Rhyme
By Lorilyn Roberts – October 14, 2014

“I’ve read other stories by Sherrill Cannon but this is my favorite yet. As a mother of two daughters who are almost grown, I wish I’d had her books when they were little. The story is fun to read and has a wonderful ending. “Peter and the Whimper-Whineys” even speaks to me as an adult. Next time I’m tempted to complain I’ll remember the Whimper-Whineys and remind myself I don’t want to be one.

I leave for Nepal soon and plan on taking this book with me to share with the children there. “Peter and the Whimper-Whineys” is sure to be a big hit and I look forward to reading it to young ears.”

As mentioned, Lorilyn, who is the founder of the John 3:16 Marketing Network, is traveling to Nepal to deliver lots of books to the orphans there, and I have sent her my books to share with the children as well.

Another Press Release… Please help me share my books with children!

New Press Release

Sherrill S. Cannon, a resident of New Hope, PA, has just won the CLIPPA Principal’s Award for Children K-2, for her book, Manner-Man. Teachers and principals throughout the U.S judge this contest. This is the 10th award for Manner-Man, bringing the author’s total number of awards for her six books to 28. Her newest book, My Fingerpaint Masterpiece, recently won the Gold Medal for Children K-3 in the Readers’ Favorite International Awards, and also received an Illustration Award – the only children’s book to win both a Gold Medal and Illustration Award.

A former teacher, mother of four and a grandmother of ten, most of her books try to teach something like good manners and consideration for others.  (Once a teacher, always a teacher…) All of her books are also part of a fundraiser for the anti-bullying campaign at imbullyfree.org.  This site is http://sbpra.com/imbullyfree and 50% of the cost of her books goes directly to the imbullyfree organization.  Manner-Man is now the Superhero for the Bully Bear kids!!  All of her books are also part of another fund-raising effort at http://sbpra.com/curejm/ for the CureJM Foundation, to help find a cure for Juvenile Myositis, an incurable children’s disease. Since many children with CureJM are also bullied, it is a win-win for both causes!  She is also the author of seven published and internationally performed plays for elementary school children, which have been produced in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom as well as Australia, Austria, Botswana, Cambodia, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Japan, New Guinea, Philippines, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates (so far). Each year, she and her husband of 54 years travel from coast to coast in their RV, sharing her books along the way!

Her books are available at many local bookstores as well as on-line, and she does quite a few book events including another one scheduled for November 12th at the Buckingham (PA) Elementary School. Her other award-winning books include The Magic Word, Gimme-Jimmy, Peter and the Whimper-Whineys and Santa’s Birthday Gift. One reviewer has called her “a modern day Dr. Seuss”.
