Lovely Judge’s Comments from Feathered Quill Book Awards for My Fingerpaint Masterpiece Coloring Book

I am so delighted to be given permission to share the lovely comments from the Judges of this year’s Feathered Quill Awards…

Feathered Quill Awards for My Fingerpaint Masterpiece Coloring Book…

Covers: Front cover – the front cover is delightful, great colors, easy to read font that fits the topic perfectly / I love how the font looks like part of it has dripped a little, just like wet paint / really delivers a clear message of what the book is about. / Back cover: good font, the white on red is easy to read (many back covers that use a white font don’t work well, that’s not the case here), synopsis could be tightened up a bit, but it’s not a big issue / author photo clear and author bio is well done, succinct with enough info to provide interest to the potential buyer/parent without any extraneous info
Content: a wonderful story with a unique twist / I love the concept of a child’s “masterpiece” being confused for a real masterpiece – it really begs the question of what is a masterpiece / the coloring aspect of the story was fun, and I can see that really getting readers involved / this story is sure to encourage young artists to believe in themselves!
Editorial/spelling/format: All well done, no issues

As you can see, the judges really enjoyed your book.  Children’s Poetry was *huge* this year and there were a *lot* of books that didn’t place.  So well done!
